Trivia
- The lab in question, Dwayne's Photography, is still in business. They just don't process Kodachrome anymore.
- The camera that Ben (Ed Harris) uses is a Leica M4-P , a rangefinder camera built from 1980 to 1986. As cutting cost strategy this is one of several Leica models manufactured mostly in Midland, Canada, instead of the legendary Leica factory in Wetzlar, Germany.
- There were two types of Kodak films. One to be printed in photographic paper and another to be projected in slides like the one Ed uses in the movie. Both developing processes were different too and had 12, 24 and 36 shot roll lengths. Kodachrome slide film came in 2 different ASA ratings, 25 and 64. Kodacolor film was for printed pictures ASA 100. Kodachrome 64 was used by Ed (distinctive red and yellow box).
- Kodachrome was originally manufactured in Rochester, NY... Home Kodak.
- The scene shot outside the Chicago hotel is actually the Novotel on The Esplanade in Toronto. You can see the sign for the popular restaurant The Olde Spaghetti Factory in the background.
- Based on The New York Times article "For Kodachrome Fans, Road Ends at Photo Lab in Kansas", originally published December 29, 2010.
Quotes
- Zoe Kern: Behave.
