in Marvel's Avengersand Captain America movies. Elizabeth starred in and was an Executive Producer for Facebook Watch's "Sorry For Your Loss". She is currently starring in WandaVision,

HARPER’S BAZAAR: Elizabeth Olsen is ready for me. In a cosy room of a London hotel, she gets up from her chair to greet me, refreshingly bright-eyed for a Monday morning. She introduces herself warmly as “Lizzie” and asks if I want anything to drink. It’s immediately clear that there aren’t many parallels between her and her antiheroine alias, the Scarlet Witch (also known as Wanda). For one thing, Olsen is very funny; she’s also supremely likeable. But she does hold herself with a certain soft power, today dressed in a grey Barbara Bui suit, an acid-pink knitted rollneck and chunky black lace-up shoes from Clergerie.

“I love playing characters whose actions people disagree with,” she says, tucking her cropped blonde hair behind her ears. “In a world where we don’t really care to understand other points of view, I feel like if we as an audience can have empathy for people we don’t agree with, that’s a good thing.” One of the most powerful figures in the Marvel Universe, Wanda straddles the morally dubious line between good and evil, and this is what interests Olsen about her; the characters she is most drawn to are the complex, knotty ones that need untangling. “Then I can kind of be their lawyer and defend them. I get behind their actions, even if I don’t agree with them,” she explains. She has recently wrapped an HBO series called Love and Death, which follows the true story of Candy Montgomery, who murdered a woman with an axe and acted as though it didn’t happen. “I adored playing her,” she says. “People would ask: ‘Are you going to play her as a sociopath?’ And I was like, ‘No, why would I do that? I’m going to try and understand how someone would be able to compartmentalise this until they were caught.” Read the rest of this entry
GLAMOUR (MEXICO): Elizabeth Olsen has conquered us not only because of her multifaceted acting career, where she has given us incredible characters like The Scarlet Witch, but also because of her love of altruism, the planet and her great personality that has led her to steal the hearts of everyone; Therefore, this month we talk exclusively with her about her personal life, her dreams, her new projects and her best fashion and beauty tips.
This month we decided to recognize the Hollywood actress with two covers . The first reflects her personal essence, her love and her daily efforts for the planet and the second highlights her public face, the movie star and the importance of women on the screen.
Do you have a dream that you would like to fulfill in the future?
Yes I have a lot. I would love to manifest multiple paths in my life in the future. I don’t think that my life is necessarily to be an actress, there are many things that I would like to explore and I have a long list. To simplify the answer, I dream of having children. That has always been a dream that I have had and it is something that I hope to be able to do.
Can you tell us a little more about your experience with Latitud Project?
It is an amazing project. Some Canadian women who I think went to Mexico with their mothers every summer, ventured to Nicaragua. They started their foundation Latitude Project. In recent years, having a presence in the country has been more difficult, not only because of the COVID pandemic, but also because of the political situation in Nicaragua. Basically they find communities with a lot of need and work with them, ask them about what they need. Be it drinking water, solar energy… and they do a project a year with these communities. They build it with them. I went to bring more awareness to Latitud, but usually they only work with the community and the people there so they can have more autonomy over what they build together. It’s always amazing. I have been with them a few times. Every time, on every project, you meet some very beautiful people and it’s truly amazing how few dollars it takes to change an entire community. It was an amazing experience and I hope to be able to return soon.
From home decor to biodiversity, Elizabeth Olsen’s interests are rooted in the glorious nature of the Golden State. Here, the bona fide star of big and small screens tells C about her ambitions beyond the Marvel multiverse
C MAGAZINE: You think you know Elizabeth Olsen. A fixed star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The younger sister of the identical uber-celebrities Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Heart-stoppingly beautiful on any red carpet, charmingly relatable on any talk show, about as close to a natural-born celebrity as you can get, having made her screen debut at age 5 in the Olsen TV movie, How the West Was Fun.
And yet nothing about Elizabeth Olsen is quite as you expect. A few minutes into a conversation that was supposed to have something to do with the new Doctor Strange movie in which she stars, we have somehow moved on to the evils of pesticides and the importance of cover crops. Yes, Hollywood is all very well, but Olsen still dreams of studying agriculture and starting a progressive farmstead.
“We just eloped. Traditions aren’t very important to me”
Marvel Studios Disables Social Media Comments Ahead of Doctor Strange 2 Premiere
COMICBOOK: We’re in the endgame now. Marvel Studios has disabled social media comments to curb spoilers as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness screens in full ahead of its May 6 release only in theaters. Marvel’s Doctor Strange sequel will host its red carpet world premiere live from Hollywood tonight at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT, giving attendees the first look at Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) mind-bending trip through the Multiverse. To keep the film’s major cameos and surprises under wraps, the official @MarvelStudios account has gone dark with a message posted to Twitter: “See you on the other side of the Multiverse. Replies will now be disabled.”
“Find out in a theater. Not online,” reads @MarvelStudios’ temporary social media bio. “Replies disabled.”
Marvel Studios’ nearly 10 million followers are currently unable to respond to tweets from @MarvelStudios or the official @DoctorStrange account, a tactic to prevent rogue leaks or spoilers from appearing in the comments. Marvel famously issued an official spoiler warning for Avengers: Endgame with the hashtag #DontSpoilTheEndgame.
Last month, an insider claimed Multiverse of Madness has “more big surprises” than the spoiler-filled Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home — combined. Disney has so far screened only the first 20 minutes of the Sam Raimi Marvel movie for press ahead of the world premiere in Hollywood.
Official promos from Marvel Studios have already confirmed some of the multiversal cameos and appearances in store for Doctor Strange 2 — spoiler warning — including a live-action Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), a variant Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), and X-Men leader Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) of the MCU Illuminati.
The first Doctor Strange 2 social media reactions will release online following Monday’s premiere. Reviews will publish Tuesday, May 3.
In Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme (Benedict Wong), and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange and The Scarlet Witch return to theaters on May 6!
MARVEL: Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives exclusively in theaters in one week, starting May 6. Tickets are now on sale!
In the latest brand-new featurette, seen above, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, film stars Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch, and director Sam Raimi reveal how the infinite possibilities of the Multiverse affect Wanda Maximoff / The Scarlet Witch as she returns following the events of Marvel Studios’ WandaVision.
The featurette opens with Vision’s poignant line from WandaVision, “What is grief, if not love persevering?”
“Part of the Madness of the Multiverse is we get to see different realities,” explains Feige. “And we see different versions, primarily of Doctor Strange, but we do see other versions of Wanda Maximoff.”
“WandaVision was this journey of her, for the first time, taking her own life into her own hands, and it was fun transitioning from her experience to this movie,” adds Olsen.
“We wanted to satisfy the WandaVision fans and take them to the next level with a character they love,” reveals Raimi.
“It was fun just looking at it from a different perspective,” Olsen says.
“It’s magical,” raves Cumberbatch. “She owns that character so well. It’s a very powerful performance, with a very powerful character.”
“In the Multiverse, there are alternate versions of everyone. It gives the character a unique opportunity to meet themselves, to recognize qualities that they may have been blind to,” Raimi concludes.
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

However, in one instance, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, who was all but confirmed in the main trailer, was given an expanded look.
This was thanks to the ScreenX format that some theaters offer, which expands the camera shot and allows the viewer to see farther on each side. The quick glimpse of just the side of Stewart’s head in a Multiverse of Madness TV spot was expanded in this format to show the entire back of his head, as well as the top of his wheelchair.
Charles Xavier isn’t the only part of the movie’s ScreenX footage that has garnered some attention, as other shots seen in the format are maybe a little more revealing than Marvel Studios intended.
Wanda Attacks Kamar-Taj
Twitter user @itsjustanx recently posted a clip from the main trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the ScreenX format. This is an optional viewing experience that select theaters offer to moviegoers so that they can see beyond the core shot that would be featured on the 2D screens. Thanks to two additional screens on the left and right sides of ScreenX theaters, audience members become immersed in a much wider version of the movie and, in theory, have the ability to see more of the movie beyond the main center view.
In the main trailer for Multiverse of Madness, an attack is shown to be taking place at Kamar-Taj – the place in the Himalayas where Strange met the Ancient One in 2016’s Doctor Strange. It is where he began his training to learn the Mystic Arts as well as where his hands were healed.
In the standard version of the film’s trailer, not much is revealed except for a few brief explosions. However, the expanded ScreenX ratio shows that the core shot has different lighting than the sides. They appear to have a red hue, similar in color to Wanda’s Chaos Magic, heavily suggesting that Wanda is involved with this scene.
For comparison, here is a shot of Wanda using Chaos Magic in the film. When looking at the two shots side-by-side, the colors look nearly identical:
Many fans now believe that the main trailer’s Kamar-Taj destruction shots had been edited to change their color grading from Wanda’s red to limited yellow lighting in an attempt to prevent fans from knowing that the assailant is Wanda herself. This theory has further backing thanks to this recent ScreenX trailer, which apparently didn’t take the time to change the color tones of the scene, effectively spoiling that Scarlet Witch will be involved in the attack on the Mystic headquarters.
The change is definitely not a coincidence, as it can clearly be seen that there has been some heavy editing to the color. With the Multiverse allowing the possibility for Wanda to get her family back, it would be no surprise if her powers were on full display while she destroyed Kamar-Taj as a villainous figure.
The full trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been posted to YouTube in the ScreenX format by CINEMASUNSHINEch:
The Twitter post that contains just the clips from the Kamar-Taj attack can be seen below:
Wanda’s heel-turn has been building since Infinity War in 2018. Witnessing Vision’s death right in front of her eyes not once, but twice, really took a toll on her. In WandaVision, things only got worse as she had to say goodbye to Vision again, but this time, she had to leave her two children behind as well.
Marvel Studios hasn’t really tried to keep her intentions a secret, as there have been multiple instances in released footage where she can be seen covered in blood and looking like nothing will stand in her way. However, taking down Kamar-Taj is a task that would be deemed almost impossible by most, but with someone as powerful as the Scarlet Witch, those in the line of fire better find cover quickly.
It is not a surprise that the attack actually came from Wanda, but it is surprising that the ScreenX trailer showed it so blatantly, especially since it was clear that the shots had clearly been edited. The number of casualties that will take place during the attack is unknown as of right now, but with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming in less than two weeks, fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in theaters on May 6.
