Press/Video: WandaVision’s Elizabeth Olsen Returns in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness First Teaser

Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong star in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in theaters May 2022

PEOPLE: Elizabeth Olsen’s superhero story continues to expand.

On Wednesday, Marvel Studios released a teaser online for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a standalone sequel for the Benedict Cumberbatch Avengers character after the 2016 installment.

In the teaser (which is included in the end credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home, now in theaters), Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch returns, continuing her character’s storyline from her Disney+ series WandaVision.

“We tampered with the stability of spacetime,” Doctor Strange says in the trailer. “The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little. … I never meant for any of this to happen.”

When Strange enlists the help of Olsen’s Wanda to get a grip on colliding universes, she references the events of WandaVision, saying, “I made mistakes and people were hurt.” She is later shown in the trailer in her full Scarlett Witch costume.

The trailer also shows Cumberbatch in dual roles, playing what appears to be his dark variant Strange Supreme, who previously appeared in Disney+’s What If…? series.

Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong also return for the sequel, which is directed by Sam Raimi — who previously directed the Tobey Maguire–led Spider-Man movies in the early 2000s.

Doctor Strange also appears in this month’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which debuted to a massive opening weekend box office.

In March, Olsen, 32, told Variety about filming the Doctor Strange sequel so close to wrapping on WandaVision and how the stories inform each other. She earned an Emmy nomination for her performance in the limited series.

“I didn’t know my part in Doctor Strange until right before we got back to filming during the pandemic. We had two months left, and we’d filmed the majority of our show already,” she recalled at the time. “Really, I knew nothing until that moment when they pitched [Doctor Strange 2] to me verbally. So I tried, as much as I could, almost less so to have it affect WandaVision as have WandaVision affect it. I think that’s really been where the connection is. It’s almost like we’re trying to make sure that everything is honoring what we did [on the show].”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is in theaters May 6.

Press: Elizabeth Olsen and Husband Robbie Arnett Write Kids’ Book About ‘Self-Care’

The couple announced their debut children’s book Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective, which will be published by Viking Children’s Books on June 28, 2022

PEOPLE: Elizabeth Olsen and her husband Robbie Arnett care about wellness — and they want little ones to care about it, too.

On Thursday, the couple announced their debut children’s book Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective, which will be published by Viking Children’s Books on June 28, 2022.

“Robbie and I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce the world to Hattie Harmony,” the 32-year-old WandaVision actress tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “Inspired by the picture books we adored as kids, we hope that Hattie will become a friend and a welcomed reminder to be kind to yourself and to each other.”

She continues: “We couldn’t have brought Hattie’s world to life without Marissa Valdez’s imaginative illustrations. In the words of Hattie Harmony… ‘Worry, Worry, Go Away… There’s No Time For You Today.’ ”

Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective is the first book in the couple’s new series. Illustrated by Marissa Valdez, the picture book follows Hattie Harmony, a “Worry Detective,” who helps her friends overcome their everyday anxieties like getting on the school bus or speaking in front of their classmates. With sweetness and warmth, she also finds ways to deal with her own fears.

“When we sat down to write Hattie Harmony, our goal was to create a relatable character who made talking about complicated feelings fun and engaging for kids,” Olsen and Arnett, 29, explain in a joint statement.

“We hope Hattie Harmony will become a welcomed reminder that it’s okay to speak up when we need help,” they continue, “and to always treat ourselves and others with kindness.”

The pair made their first public appearance as a couple in September 2017. Olsen is loved by Marvel fans for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff and Arnett is a lead singer in the indie band Milo Greene. Now, they’re joining creative forces to teach children about wellness.

Press: Inside Elizabeth Olsen’s Serene Emmys Getting Ready Experience

VOGUE: If you hadn’t heard, Elizabeth Olsen attended 2021’s Emmy ceremonies in a custom gown from The Row, the minimalist fashion label helmed by her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley. The internet loved that tidbit, but it was only one element of Olsen’s time at the ceremony. A first-time nominee for her performance as Wanda Maximoff on Disney +’s WandaVision, Olsen was up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. In the series, her character has to move between realities, emotions, and meta-TV references at rapid speed. And yet during the lead-up to her big night, Olsen kept things calm.

Pre-show Olsen and her glam squad of stylist Elizabeth Stewart, makeup artist Pati Dubroff, and hairstylist Adir Abergel put together an understated look that didn’t skimp on luxury. Abergel gave Olsen a brand new bob, Dubroff applied warm shades of Chanel cosmetics, and Augustinus Bader’s famously rich cream, while Stewart topped things off with chandelier earrings from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection featuring 68.7 carats of diamonds set in titanium.

Joined on the red carpet by husband Robbie Arnett, the couple wore his and hers pieces from The Row, giving an evening of bombastic fashion a moment of serene elegance. Here, the star shares a peek into her getting-ready process and a closer look at that instantly iconic gown.

Augustinus Bader Cream is by far the greatest cream to wear under any makeup. I’m obsessed.

Never forget to get the neck!

After doing a final fit with the dress, Adir began to play with shapes for hair.

Press: Elizabeth Olsen’s Sisters Designed Her Emmys Dress

VOGUE: Wandavision star and first-time Emmy nominee Elizabeth Olsen chose to make her red carpet appearance this evening a family affair. Olsen, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series at tonight’s ceremony, wore an ethereal white design from The Row, her sister Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s luxury label. The minimal gown stuck to the clean, unfussy silhouettes that The Row has become known for since launching in 2006: It features a deep-V neckline, billowy sleeves, and a floor-length hemline. In it, Olsen looked timeless and classic, yet the silhouette also felt modern enough to stand out.

In an interview earlier this year, Olsen said that her sisters are her greatest style icons. “Everything my sisters have ever worn in my entire life I have wanted to wear still as an adult today,” Olsen said. “I want their coats. I want their shoes. I want their dresses—and that is something that I never grew out of.” Tonight she got an even better opportunity: To have a custom look made by the style icons themselves. Clearly, they all know that when it comes to red carpet dressing, stripping things back can be the most effective statement of all. Less is more, baby!
